Twist armchair

This project intended to explore new opportunities for creating more sustainable furniture. Transporting items flat-packed can greatly reduce their CO2 emission, however, it often sacrifices the finished look of the product. The Twist armchair was designed with the aim of creating a knock-down lounge chair, which does not expose any of its joints, but provides a high-end look and feel once it is assembled. The joints of the TWIST chair make it possible to provide all of its parts as spare parts and thus prolonging the chair´s lifespan. Possibilities of an improved assembly experience were investigated too. During the design process, multiple consultations were conducted at HAY and the research and design phase were built around the company´s case.
